Second half
A few weeks have passed since my last update, and quite a few things have happened in the meantime.
My reality line has brought me exactly where I am now.
September has just started, and I have recently finished what I could call my summer season. All the shows I had planned for the summer are now over, and that part of the year took a good amount of my focus and energy.
At the same time, I kept working on the other sides of my music project. Sharing new videos, writing this blog, documenting my journey and my process. I think I managed to keep most things moving, and now I find myself here, more or less where I planned to be.
And now it's time to focus on music. More specifically, on the part of music that I haven't really given enough energy to this year: producing new songs.
I have already written and sketched out quite a few ideas, but apart from two songs, everything else is still in a very rough state. Ideas, structures, sounds and melodies that are waiting to become something more complete.
So my focus is shifting towards that.
New songs are probably the most important thing for a musician, together with playing live. Which sounds obvious, but somehow, these days, being a musician doesn't only mean making music anymore.
Especially as an independent artist. But now I have the space to put more energy into it.
I'll rearrange my studio a little, spend more time with my instruments and try to get the best sound I can out of them. The songs are there, at least in some form.
Now I just have to give them the time and energy they need.
The goal is to have an EP ready by the end of this year.
Let's see where the reality line takes me next.
